It’s great that The Swinging Bass Band will be back again at Ansty Hall, Warwickshire, and so close to Coventry, to play for a wedding.
Featuring the some of the best Rat Pack, swing music, jazz and pop covers. On hand will be our vocalist Roy Forbes to work his magic and some of the best musicians from across the Midlands.
Looking forward to a great wedding reception!
The Swinging Bass Quartet, (sax, keyboard, double bass & drums) has been invited to play for a 30th Wedding Anniversary at The Mill Arts Centre in Banbury, Oxfordshire in April.
An excellent venue. The sort of place which we love to play in. Quiet music, adding to the mood, and without disturbing the conversation – that’s our thing!
The Swinging Bass band has recently played at an informal evening at the Regent Jazz Club, Leicester.
The band played a great mix of Sinatra, Rat Pack, Swinging Jazz and Michael Bublé. People in the audience were saying that it was the best band they had ever heard! We had some of the audience dancing too – at a jazz club!
The Swinging Bass Band will be playing at a public event on 24th January 2017 at Regent Jazz.
Most of the events that the band plays at are private ones – corporate events, weddings, private parties etc, so this is a rare opportunity to see the band.
Will be great to see you!
At Regent Sports & Social Club, 102 Regent Road, Leicester, LE1 7DA.

The Swinging Bass Band has played at an afternoon wedding reception at North Marston Village Hall, Buckinghamshire. The band played a great mix of jazz classics, Sinatra, Glenn Miller and 1940′s songs.
The Bride played the trumpet and asked that we have a trumpeter in the band. Vocalist Roy Forbes was with the band again singing and engaging with the guests as only he can!
The band and trio have now played at about 350 weddings, corporate events and parties over the years. Looking forward to another great celebration and playing a mix of Swing Music, Sinatra, Rat Pack and fantastic Pop Covers to get everyone dancing!
The Swinging Bass Band has played at Leicester's Cosmopolitan Carnival in the new Jubilee Square. One of the few free public events that the band plays each year. We had a fantastic crowd who enjoyed the mix of Swing Music, Michael Bublé and Sinatra. Not enough time to add any pop covers this time, but enough for everyone to enjoy some classic swinging jazz.
Nuthurst Grange is in Warwickshire and also convenient for Birmingham, Coventry, and Leicestershire – all in the Midlands.
So many people came to ask for requests and to say how great and suitable the music was. The hotel has also taken our details to add us to their list of recommended bands.
We played a mixture of tunes the guests knew, and also from the Michael Bublé, and Sinatra swing music song books. We are looking forward to returning to Nuthurst Grange very soon!
It was a very hot July day when The Swinging Bass band played at The Pavilion, Branston Golf and Country Club, Burton on Trent, Staffordshire. The six piece live band had been booked to play for the evening party.
Our vocalist and guitar wiz, Dave, was still on holiday, so again we invited John, a great friend and Sinatra and Bublé vocalist, to be with us. He is no mean pop vocalist too, and guaranteed to get a party going!
It was decided to play 3 sets and the first dance was medley of You Make Me Feel So Young, Fly Me To The Moon and Come Fly With Me. This was followed with Moondance, all as Michael Bublé would sing them.
As the evening developed we moved from swing music to rock and roll (Blue Suede Shoes, See You Later Alligator), onto include hits like Dance the Night Away and Rocking All Over The World. We finished with New York, New York.
It was a hot summer night, and the guests generated a lot of their own heat too dancing and enjoying themselves!
It was a January wedding at Prestwold Hall, Leicestershire, and the band was booked to play for the evening wedding party. Prestwold Hall is a magnificent venue where we have been to several times. In December and early January the Christmas decorations give a fantastic seasonal atmosphere.
We played three sets and not long into the first set we played the first dance, Close To You, by the Carpenters. We kept the dancing going with some of Michael Bublé’s best swing music. Then we were into pop covers and the like of Ladies Night, Play that Funky Music, Good Times, and Mustang Sally.
By the third the dance floor was packed and we were into Jail House Rock, Rocking All Over The World and finished with New York, New York.
